A Joint Venture Between The Bipolar Battle & Ketamine Wellness Centers: The Truth about Ketamine Treatments

It has been a few years since I first learned of ketamine infusions as a treatment option for specific mental illnesses. In fact, in the beginning, I remember it being used solely for unipolar depression. Nowadays, Ketamine treatments have been used to provide patients with relief from a host of other conditions. These conditions include depression (both unipolar and bipolar depression), PTSD, Chronic Pain, OCD, and suicidality.

A few years ago, one of my lifelong friends told me he had started ketamine infusions. Ever since I first knew him, he has struggled with depression. Over the years, he tried countless medications, different therapies (including electroshock therapy), and drug trials through various universities.

I remember thinking, “This is the best he has ever sounded.” He explained the simplicity of the treatments and the ability to maintain them.

At the time, Ketamine infusions had not been studied enough for bipolar disorder and I crossed it off my list as a potential future therapy. Things have changed since that time.

Ketamine Wellness Centers

I recently connected with Ketamine Wellness Centers on Twitter. I was intrigued because they prompted a brief discussion about ketamine infusions. For a while, I had been toying with the idea of learning more about the process and what it entails. They provided me the proper contact information for Kia and reached out right away.

Last Thoughts

I was diagnosed with bipolar type 1, back in 1999. Since then, I have tried countless medications, therapies, and procedures.

Over a couple of years, I resorted to ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), at one point. If you know anything about ECT, there is a huge side effect profile.

Personally, I plan to keep Ketamine treatments in the back of my mind as a possible therapy to help me down the road. It is a cutting-edge therapy that I plan on looking into if the need ever arises.

The potential for side effects is so small and they generally last up to a couple of hours after each treatment.
